The game was released in August 2013 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, and was later ported to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Linux in 2015.
It is the sequel to 2011's Saints Row: The Third and the fourth installment in the Saints Row series. Saints Row IV is a 2013 action-adventure game developed by Volition and published by Deep Silver.
